St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity has always been focused on charitable works since our founding in 1899. In 1972 TKE decided to announce an organization-wide focus one specific charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, which was founded by our fraternity brother and entertainer, Danny Thomas. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a pediatric treatment and research facility located in Memphis, Tennessee. St. Jude was founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962, with help from Lemuel Diggs and Thomas' close friend from Miami, automobile dealer Anthony Abraham. The hospital was founded on the premise that "no child should die in the dawn of life".
